Welcome to Mythic Trash, Etc...
I’m really pumped to do this! Some of you may have caught my last creative endeavor, a podcast with one of my buddy, “Scoob”. We had a great time working on the show, but both got busy with life and it fell to the wayside. Now here I am, hoping to capture another bit of lightning in a jar (or maybe treasure in the trash this time?) with:
- A new concept
- A (sort of) new medium
I think a basic FAQ (with questions no one actually asked) will help set the stage for what’s to come:
What can I expect?
- Musings on culture ("pop" or not)
- Unfinished demos
- Scans of zines
- Radio transmissions (music and possibly even more familiar transmissions 😉)
Why a blog?
Editing podcasts, producing music, and writing a recurring column take a lot of time. Focusing on producing a little bit of each takes less time, and is more conducive to my productivity across the board. I think many of you will enjoy this new Low-Stakes, Jack-Of-All-Trades, approach I’ll take here.
What is Mythic Trash? What is the "et cetera" for?
I’ve come up with this phrase to explain what you get when you venerate the simplest ideas, the dullest flavors, the commonest melodies; Mythic Trash is the act of celebrating, and deliberating the finer points of the mundane. If you share my appreciation of Trash, and enjoy mythologizing it, you’re in the right place.
Etc(etera) because sometimes I want to state and appreciate the obvious.
What’s the deal with this basic website?
My goal is to present you with an enjoyable browsing experience. While Mythic Trash, Etc. might not be the flashiest website, it’s not going to take two hours to load. I consider that to be a win for the both of us. Just consider it trash that we'll mythologize together.
